Registered Nurse

Registered Nurses (RNs) are medical professionals that work in various clinical settings. They are responsible for supervising other healthcare practitioners, such as the Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

Education
Unlike LPNs and CNAs, RNs are required to finish a proper education. It could be either Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) which could take about four years. Through these degree programs, a nurse can obtain a license as a registered nurse.

  • Assess and make decisions about client problems
  • Lead and coordinate the care planning process
  • Help doctors during exams and surgeries
  • Dress wounds and incisions
  • Teach patients about self-care and healthy habits
  • Act as supervisor to some nurses
